Advocacy group makes emojis talk

French advocacy group Innocence de Danger is bringing to life emojis in a really creepy, but interesting way.

It’s to bring awareness to parents and young people about who they are talking to on the Internet and over text message.

To be honest, I couldn't stop staring at the ads. It was disconcerting to see the seemingly innocuous emojis that I send to my friends over iMessage take form and turn into something that is anything but fun and humourous.

In fact, it becomes a reality that no one enjoys picturing.

However, it's a message that is incredibly important to picture because of the reason why we use emojis. Emojis in many ways are what we send to our friends because they symbolize a closeness in our relationships.

Adults who use emojis to talk to children take advantage of that mentality, and seeing our favourite emojis as sexual predators is jarring.

But at the same time, it's also a necessary warning to become more educated and diligent in protecting not only yourself, but the kids you care about too.
